Spray Tanning FAQ

What is the before and after care?

How long do I have to wait until I can shower?

Depending on which tan you get, Classic vs. Rapid, will depend on when you can shower.

Classic Spray Tan 8-12 hours

Rapid Spray Tan 1-5 hours (I will give you exact time to shower at checkout)

What’s the difference between Classic & Rapid spray tan?

Classic spray tan can be rinsed off between 8-12 hours, where rapid can be rinsed off between 1-5 hours depending on how dark you would like to be and takes 24 hours to fully develop after initial rinse.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Dark, baggy, long clothing. You don’t want anything to come in contact with the fresh spray tan.

Will the spray tan transfer onto my clothes/sheets?

Although there is minimal transfer from this spray tan while processing, it can happen, that’s why it's important to wear baggy dark clothing. Once it has been rinsed off it will not transfer or stain.

Solution used is water based and if any transfer happens it will rinse right out of sheets/clothing.

What should I put on my skin before the spray tan?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Come with clean, bare, exfoliated skin.

That means no makeup, deodorant, perfume, or lotions. NOTHING. BARE skin

Can I shower before my spray tan appointment?

It is not advised but if you NEED to shower, I recommend a minimum of 3-4 hours before getting a spray and do not wash your hair. Do not put anything on after your shower, skin must be completely bare for spray tan to adhere properly.

When should I exfoliate my skin?

2-4 times BEFORE your session, never day of.

The fresh skin cells will form a smooth base that your spray tan will stick to. The fresher the skin cells, the longer the life of the tan.

What soap do you recommend using for a spray tan?

Nuda body wash is going to be best for longevity of the spray tan, but you can also use brands such as Native, CeraVe, and Cetaphil, soaps that are gel-based work the best.

Do I have to tan naked?

Whatever level you are comfortable with. I supply nipple covers and disposable underwear if needed.

Not unless you are completely healed. You should never tan with healing/open wounds.

Can my teenager spray tan?

Yes, but must have parent’s consent anyone under age 18.

Do I have to spray tan my face?

No, some people chose to skip spraying their face and that is completely fine! I will spray your entire body and blend up your neck to make it look as natural as possible. If you are getting your makeup professionally done for an event it is recommended you DO NOT spray tan your face.

Will I look orange after my spray tan?

No, you will not appear orange with a Nuda Tan. I use the highest quality solution and guarantee that you will not turn orange as long as you are following the proper before and after care.

What if I have old spray tan on?

Wait until all the old spray tan is completely gone, exfoliate the area to help speed up fading or purchase a sunless tan remover in studio.

Do I have to wear sunscreen with a spray tan?

Yes! The spray tan does not protect you against UV rays. I recommend SunBum as a safe sunscreen for spray tans.

Will acne medications affect my spray tan?

Yes, acne medications can dry the skin out causing the spray tan solution to cling to dry spots and possibly oversaturate the area. If you continue with acne medications after receiving a spray tan, it can also cause the tan to fade faster.
